Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have asked Katharine McPhee to sing at their wedding, after McPhee lost out to Taylor Hicks in last week's American Idol finale. "Tom and Katie have been Katherine's biggest fans," a source close to the couple says. "They think she's destined to become a singing legend." Holmes reportedly met McPhee at the LA Scientology center, where the singer has been taking classes with her boyfriend.

Anna Nicole Smith is pregnant
Anna Nicole Smith is expecting a baby girl, according to the baby's father - paparazzo Larry Birkhead. "I have been told that I am expecting a child, I have seen the ultrasound and have spoken to doctors," Birkhead told TMZ. "I am very excited about the possibility of becoming a father." The photographer has previously denied the rumor, but said yesterday that he had been pressured to do so by Anna Nicole's lawyer, Howard K. Stern. "Anna wants that guy completely out of her life and obviously he is having trouble dealing with it. You'll find out soon enough [if she's pregnant]," said Stern. Birkhead confirmed the pregnancy after Stern's statement, saying, "I was not going to discuss the matter publicly, but since Howard K. Stern is attempting to bash me... Howard needs to get past his own jealousy about the relationship between myself and his only client." A source said Stern is denying the news because Anna Nicole wishes to make money off announcing the pregnancy herself.
Jenny McCarthy avoids Carrey romance questions
Jenny McCarthy avoided questions about her rumored relationship with funnyman Jim Carrey during her appearance today on The View. "No comment," she said when asked. "Does that ever work? The funny thing is I've never said it in my whole life!" When pressed by Joy Behar to confirm that she is dating "a well-known comedian who makes funny faces who is not Jerry Lewis," the former Playmate said people could "look it up online," and "Let's move on to the next topic." McCarthy and Carrey have been reportedly dating since December and were recently spotted sharing a cosy dinner in LA.
KFed cleans up and talks
Kevin Federline got a makeover for a spread in Item magazine promoting his new album. Some excerpts from the article include:
On the public: "I should just put a bulls-eye on my back. If I stay home and take care of my kids, then I'm a loafer, not a good father. If I try to have a career, nobody thinks I'm caring for my family. I can't win."
On rumors: "You'll never see that guy they say cheats or goes partying all the time. If I'm there and I'm out at a club, I am there for a reason. I am not there to mingle with women. All that shit is done to me. I did that when I was 21."
On his children: "It's completely unfair when a child is brought into this world and now he's already looked at as a prince. My kids are going to have to learn what a real job is, what life is. You don't have it easy with me. Period... My kids are going to work at Taco Bell, dammit."
On his image: "I wish people would ask me about my career. Usually it's 'How's the wife and kids?' Not that I mind, that's my pride and joy. But it would be nice for people to look at me as an artist. The day they judge me as an artist, a CEO, as somebody, not Britney Spears's husband, that's the day I am looking forward to."

LeAnn Rimes nearly poisoned Nicole Kidman
LeAnn Rimes discovered one of neighbor Nicole Kidman's allergies when she had the actress and her fiance Keith Urban over for breakfast. "Keith lives two doors down from us. We went out for dinner one night and [Rimes's husband] Dean was bragging about how he makes the best breakfasts, so we invited them round the next morning," the singer said. "Dean spent ages digging out these huge grapefruits and stuffing them with strawberries. When they turned up, Nicole said, 'Oh, I'm allergic to strawberries.' We ended up having omelettes."

Pretty Daytime Shoes Under $100
No wonder I hardly buy shoes. It's so hard to find stylish and cheap shoes that don't look cheap! Even with the many choices on the internet, this was still no easy task. Anyways, this summer, I'm loving shoes made of woven leather, patent leather and bold colours. So here are some of my favourites from this season's offerings which are under US$100 (about 53 pounds according to today's currency rate.)
Free People Knotted Leather Ballet Flats -Love the strong blue. Clashing colours can totally lighten up an outfit.
I really like this pair of Dolce Vita Woven Toe Wedge from Urban Outfitters. If only the wedges weren't made of cork!
More woven leather! This one is more boho looking. Pumps by Guess.
Moving on to patent leather: Steve Madden Pumps.
I could image this pair of Miss Sixty sandals matching the oh-so-fashionable black/ grey jeans.
These gingham sandal-pumps by Bebe are so cute that I can even ignore the terrible cork sole. Gingham is one of the trends that some of you might be liking this summer. For inspiration, go check out Dolce & Gabanna SS06 collection.
OK I'm cheating but I couldn't resist adding in two pairs of evening shoes. This sophisticated pair of stilettos by BCBGirls is the perfect choice for dances.
These Top Shop pumps are fun and elegant. This is def a possiblity for those who want something more that plain black pumps. (And since black pumps are everywhere, I wasn't bothered to find a pair under $100.)

Silver sandals by Seychelles. Again, I like the woven leather and the perfectly-comfotable kitten heels.
50s inspired pumps by Seychelles. I'm not too sure I like the colour, but I def like the design.More woven leather! This one is more boho looking. Pumps by Guess.

Caged Flat Sandals by Top Shop. This may be boring looking, but it'll probably match all the outfits you throw together this summer. (Not to mention that slight copying of Prada SS06's shoes.)
I normally hate plain wooden wedges, but I really like the prints on the fabric and the design of the straps.
