OC Fashion
The authors of this blog have noticed that at the beginning of the OC Season Two, the quality of fashion has declined severely: Abercrombie shirts were seen constantly, and the outfits were highly uncreative. As Summer would say, EWW!! But thankfully, the producer Josh Schwartz must have come across a comment or two in the OC chatrooms, (which he obssessively hangs around,) and asked the OC's fashion stylist Karla Stevens for improvement.
The results are obvious and spetacular. Most of the Abercrombie shirts and untrendy items are gone, and brilliant items have appeared. There are now more Marc by Marc Jacobs and other Neiman Marcus type items being worn. It certainly makes the beautiful OC people even more beautiful and perfect. Learn how the stars dress for different occassions, the OC-way.
For school : Does anyone in your school ever dress so gorgeously to school?

In repsonse to a condescending comment
It has come to this blog's authors' notice that someone had commented the following about our site: "Your obssesion with capitalism is diabolic."
From dictionary.com:
Diabolic:
Of, concerning, or characteristic of the devil; satanic.
Appropriate to a devil, especially in degree of wickedness or cruelty.
This comment is rude and just shows what how close-minded some people are. We would like to respond the following points:

This comment is rude and just shows what how close-minded some people are. We would like to respond the following points:
- Capitalism is one of the most important basis that most societies nowadays are built on. If you can't accept capitalism, then you are welcome to continue to hide in your hermit lair, or even better, move to a socialist country like North Korea.
- Retail industry is one of the most important industry in the economy. A huge percentage of the people employed works in the retail industry, and without it, well, you can imagine how high the unemployment rate would be. The same applies to the fashion and beauty industry.
- Having suffered from the Asian Financial Crisis, Hong Kong has finally been making steady economic recovery thanks to the Chinese government relaxing polocies so more mainland Chinese can go to Hong Kong to shop! (Mainland Chinese love to go to Hong Kong to buy gold, jewelery, cosmetics and fashion etc.)
- China, the center of socialism, wouldn't be the biggest rising economic power in the world if they hadn't opened up to capitalism. With their open market policies, they have attracted many foreign investments to manufacture there, like Gucci, Levi's and IBM to name a few.
- And if after so many points, you still cannot accept capitalism in our world, then you are welcome to stop shopping and share your possessions like socialists do. But we sincerely hope that you will embrace the modern framework of our society and join us in the twenty first century.
- Most importantly everyone has different interests and hobbies, fashion just happens to be ours. And this blog should not be taken to reflect the society as a whole.
And to end this on a light note, we would like to remind you all that we still LOVE getting comments *hint hint* (and yes, we are both studying economics related courses)!
Love,

The Fashionable "Claire's"
Having compared shopping notes with Harrods Girl, I have come up with the conclusion that we need a much more fashionable version of Claire's in America, like the Accessorize they have in the UK, which has been named number one on the "high street accessories" category by In Style UK (magazine.) While their philosophy is both to supply relatively cheap but fashionable accessories to the general population, they have one very distinct and important difference. Accessorize is clearly aimed at more trendy and fashionable consumers. Here are a few of their oh-so-fashionable and lovely accessories:
Isn't this colorful floral patterned bag simply divine?
Patchwork, which was featured in Marc by Marc Jacobs this season.
And these earthy but funky jewellry would go perfectly with the bohemian luxe look this season!

Claire's on the other hand, is obviously aimed at a much younger (notice the heart shaped cursor they have on the site) and less fashion orientated audience. Although they DO provide some very nice cheap but classical items of accessories that everyone needs. I especially love these stone heart hoop earrings, giving a twist to the normal hoops.

Makes one want to move to the UK doesn't it?
Bag Trends Spring / Summer 2005
Ah yes, after I had featured a few key trends for spring/summer 2005, how could it not be time to finally feature bags? This season, big bags are in, (thank goodness. I mean, how did you ever fit everything you need in a tiny bag?) The big bags are part of the world-trotting trend this year, (such as bohemian luxe, safari, holiday themes.) Hobo bags continue to be fashionable this year, but some are different in terms of style and colors. Here are some selections that can be worn with any daytime outfits (and some night wear.):
by Chloe
A lovely bag which I love from Chloe this season. Its perfect for the rich girl traveling around the globe. Well, and also good for going out everyday.
by Burberry
The Burberry Prorsum bag featured in the ads and heavily campaigned on this year. The two pockets and extra long straps give a more casual bohhemian luxe feel to the bag. Oh, and did I mention that this kind of woven handles are seen in a lot of bags this season? Make sure you look out for them.

by Coach
A fabulous hobo bags. Notice that the hobo bags have evoled from the bent shape to this slouchy square shape.
by Anthropologie
Another lovely evolved hobo.
by Urban Outfitters
A classical hobo bag perfect for a shopping spree and a day in the city.

by American Eagle
Notice the floral patterns, which is an important trend this year (thanks to Burberry.) An excellent tote for all casual occasions, such as going to the gym, the beach, to school...

Faithful sling bag from shopintuition.com & girlshop.com
This metallic comfortable hobo was seen on Cameraon Diaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Need I say more about how nice it is?
by Gucci
Rememer to check out Gucci on your next shopping trip. Gucci is offering a lot of excellent choices that can serve multi-purpose (day & night), luxe looking, and even go with the posh holiday theme.

by Chloe
The IT bag of the season: Chloe leather paddington bag. It goes with ALL the trends this year, and would definately be wanted by all the fashionistas this season.

Intellectually Fashionable
There is a common misconception in this society that people who are interested in and follow fashion are "fashion victims". They think that its dumb to be spending all that money to buy items of clothing that are "fashionable" one season and out the next. I would like to point out that a) one does not neccessarily have to spend all that money to be fashionable, although it helps and b) there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good, smart and up-to-date. Besides, who said intellectual people are not fashionable? I consider myself and Harrod's girl to be intelligent in every sense of the word, and fashionable. Even intellectual celebrities, like Natalie Portman and Kate Bosworth, can be fashion inspirations.

In fact, some intellectual people have slight perfectionist tendencies in them, which makes them want to look good on the outside as well as on the inside. And so, I would like to conclude that people who are interested in and follow fashion are not fashion victims but in fact, "intellectually fashionable".
