Brad Pitt sent e-mail wishes to his Babel co-stars at the Cannes film fest, along with regrets for not being there due to the "imminent" birth of his baby. A Cannes news conference moderator read the e-mail, which said, "With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I am unable to join Alejandro, Cate, Gael and the rest of the cast and crew in introducing the film. I am tremendously proud of Babel and want to congratulate everyone involved for this great achievement."
