Ashlee Simpson No More (And Def. Expecting!)

Due to her recent marriage to rocker Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson has made a very traditional change in her life. She is now Ashlee Wentz! Professionally though, she'll go by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. She says, "I think that that's something that a woman should do when they're marring a man. It's a tradition that I think is a great tradition."

Oh and a little fyi, just a few moments ago, I saw the confirmation that everyone has been waiting for. The Wentzes are preggers!

"While many have speculated this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child. This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family." - Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wentz.

Couples Alert

Pete and Ashlee to marry this weekend! Both celebrated bachelor slash bachelorette parties last night. Pete, accompanied by Joe Simpson, his bandmates and Joel Madden, began at LA's Mr. Chow, followed by a party in the Marilyn Monroe suite at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. As for Ashlee, she spent the evening at the luxury lingerie store Kiki De Montparnasse.

Since California's Supreme Court turned down the law banning gay marriage, Ellen DeGeneres announced yesterday that she and girlfriend Portia de Rossi are engaged. Congrats!

Are they or aren't they? Earlier reports stated that Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson are dunzo! But wait, Jessica (Ashlee's maid of honor) will be bringing Tony as her date to her sister's nuptials this weekend. Hmmm.

...And Gonna Have A Baby, Maybe?

It's yet to be confirmed, but it seems that newly-engaged couple Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz may have a bun in the oven.

According to US Weekly, a source close to the couple has verified that the two are expecting their first child.

She does seem to be covering her stomach area with the black clutch...hmmmm

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged!

And yes, it's for real this time.

The couple, first outed when they were seen kissing in a NY nightclub, have been together since the fall 2006.  

Simpson made the news official with this post on friendsorenemies.com Wednesday:

"We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us."

Ashlee Simpson premiered her new song, a duet with Plain White T’s frontman Tom Higgenson, on Chicago’s KISS FM DreX Morning Show on Thursday. “Little Miss Obsessive” shows the true tones of Ashlee’s voice along with harmonizing melodies with Higgenson in the chrous.

Ashlee's dad confirms the obvious

After more than a year of coy answers from Ashlee Simpson regarding her May 2006 nose job, her father Joe has finally confirmed that his daughter went under the knife. In an interview with Fox news, Joe says he had no control over Ashlee's decision to undergo rhinoplasty. "Girls have their own ideas," he shrugged. "Anyway, there was a real problem with her breathing and that was cured." Simpson Sr., who serves as manager to both his daughters, credits good parenting as the reason his daughters haven't gone the way of Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears. "We have a real family," he said. "You can't just put these kids out in the world and they're on their own. I can remember a time when Jessica was singing at Madison Square Garden and her outfit ripped before she went on. We were there for her." And then there was Ashlee's SNL debacle: "She's lost her voice, and Jordan Schur [then the head of her record label] insisted she lip-sync," Joe said. "She'd never done it before. She didn't want to do it. Anyway, she'll never do it again. We just did a huge tour, and there was no lip-syncing." The former Baptist minister also denies claims that he's a controlling father. "I don't tell my girls who to date or marry or what to do." He also has no hard feelings against former son-in-law Nick Lachey. "I have nothing against Nick," he said. "But they got married very young. I told Jessica, 'You're going to hit an age when it's all going to be clear to you - life, that is - and you'll know what you want to do.' I do blame 50 percent of their breakup on the media."

Ashlee wants you to know she loves herself

Ashlee Simpson really wants us all to believe she's happy with the way she looks. On the heels of an interview in Harper's Bazaar where she said she "loved how I looked" before her nose job last year, Simpson tells Cosmopolitan mag, "I feel very confident with the way I look. But I felt just as confident the way I looked before. I've always been confident with who I am." And of her now-public relationship with Fall Out Boy singer Pete Wentz, Simpson says, "It's really hard for me to like Hollywood-type guys. I like guys who are relaxed and chill and who think I'm sexy no matter what I do. And I like guys who are into surfing. They're cute and seem more laid-back, and I'm a pretty laid-back person."

Pete Wentz opens "loser" bar in NYC

Fall Out Boy singer Pete Wentz celebrated the opening of his NYC bar last night with girlfriend Ashlee Simpson. Wentz and a few friends decided to open Angels & Kings in the East Village so they will have a place where "all our loser friends can hang out." Wentz says he is tired of the pretentious club scene and wanted to have somewhere more relaxed to go to. "It's different when you want to bring your friends to a place...and maybe we're just not cool enough to get in. We really just want someplace where we can hang out and be ourselves... I'm just gonna be local and drink umbrella drinks. It will be a bit of a dive, which we need," Wentz told pagesix.com. One of his co-owners added, "[It's] a place that anyone can go and have sex in the bathroom and not get in trouble."

Ashlee and Pete suck face over dinner

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were all over each other on Friday night. The on-again, off-again pair shared a table at Mastro's restaurant with Adam Brody, who Simpson is rumored to have shared a fling with, and former *NSYNCer JC Chasez. "They were really amping it up to get to Adam, who was cordial but clearly annoyed," said a source. "He was trying to be nice and chat but then couldn't take it anymore. He eventually left in disgust with JC. It clearly got to him. Ashlee and Pete continued making out and causing a scene at the table for the rest of the meal."

Rock star disses Ashlee

Despite being spotted locking lips and holding hands on several occasions with Ashlee Simpson, Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz told Rolling Stone that they are most certainly not a couple. "Maybe in a different universe, we'd be some hot couple, but not in this one," Wentz told the mag. "I'm attracted to creative people and train wrecks, and there's no shortage of that in Los Angeles." Ouch.
