Izzie Out Of Emmy Running

Due to the lack of a great storyline for her character in this past season of Grey's Anatomy, Katherine Heigl feels she should not be included in the choosing of Emmy nominees. The blossoming actress won last year for best supporting actress.

She says, "I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention."

Oh Iz, always putting others before yourself. I hope this doesn't hurt you at all though within Greys, it's a kinda sorta subtle slap in the face to the writing staff.

Docs Do A Sing-Along

Grey's and Private Practice docs put away the stethoscopes (and drama) for the evening and brought out the mics for last Friday's charity sing-along with proceeds going toward the crew members who were affected by the recent WGA strike.

McDreamy, aka Patrick Dempsey, started the night out with a video message from Japan where he is promoting his film Enchanted. He wore dark sunglasses and sat next to an action figure of himself. Katherine Heigl looking ravishing in red once again, introduced costar (and Tony winner) Sara Ramirez from the UCLA stage. Ramirez sang "Meadowlark" and recieved a standing ovation.

Next up was T.R. Knight where he nervously joked that he hadn't done anything like this in 13 years. But not to worry, he went through with it. He sang the show tune, "Losing My Mind/You Could Drive A Person Crazy."

McSteamy, aka Eric Dane, then joined the newest Grey's cast member Brooke Smith on stage where they read fan fiction followed by Chandra Wilson who sang her rendition of "God Bless The Child."

Kate Walsh (who is set to be gracing the halls of Seattle Grace once again come April) appeared via video from Australia but her costars of Grey's spin-off Private Practice were in attendance including Paul Adelstein who covered Paul Simon's "Slip 'Slidin Away" while rocking out on the electric guitar.

After two hours of sing-along fun, Shonda Rhimes, executive producer of both ABC shows, thanked the audience for their support. "Even though we are starting production on our shows again, many crew members will never be able to make up the money lost in the strike," she said. "We love our crew and are happy to provide, if only for one night, a little Good Medicine."

Here's a video of a few of the performances of the night...

Oscars' Best Dressed and Best Tressed

The Oscars have come and gone, but the looks seen on the red carpet are still being talked about. From Hannah Montana's Miley Cyrus to Heidi Klum's charitable statement, the big color of the night was red and the hair was all about the bold side part, swept up and left down.

Anne Hathaway looks radiant in red with lips to match

Enchanted star and Oscar performer Amy Adams

Cameron Diaz wearing Dior and Bulgari jewels

Miley Cyrus looking as sweet and sophisticated as ever

Katherine Heigl chooses the bombshell look

Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson brings out the bangs

Glowing mom-to-be Jessica Alba

Glamorous Jennifer Garner in black

Penelope Cruz brings a simple hairdo to a new level

Best actress winner Marion Cotillard in vintage

Heidi Klum looks striking in a Galliano dress that is being auctioned off to raise money for the Heart Truth campaign.

Katherine Heigl's New Helmut Hair!

Eeeeee. Katie! Why you done did that? I might be able to deal with the cut, but the color? Eek! So washed out. Please let this be for a role or something. Seriously, if I had her hair (pre-this pic, natch), I'd just sit around and bask in its lovely bounciness all day. Just sit there and watch TV and just appreciate myself and my hair so fucking much. So why the change? Also, here's a little-known Biblical fact: there are a few lost lines contained within Ecclesiastes 3, verses 1–8 that translate roughly to:

"There is a time for a 29-year-old to look like present-day Tippi Hedren and/or Diane Sawyer and a time for a 29-year-old not to look like present-day Tippi Hedren and or/ Diane Sawyer."

And lo, this is one of those times. Turn, turn, turn.

I swear it's not too late!

Cute Katherine Heigl-Inspired Pieces!

In a previous post, where we effused adoration over Katherine Heigl and her presh-ness, we linky-dinked a pic of her in Marc Jacobs' cute corded cotton "dobby" top:
Unfortunately it's sold out on StandardStyle.com, Saks and at Barneys. BUT, looky how cute Nordstrom's $32 version is:

($32, Love Squared, Nordstrom)
It's available in white, black and grey (which is totes my faves, obvz). And, while you're saving, why not pick up the super presh jumper they've so conveniently paired it with?

($58, Velvet Torch, Nordstrom)
Harts the yellow and grey color combo -- though the maroon tights make it a wee bit too dear, no?

Katherine Heigl Is A Pretty Pretty Princess

(Photo via Pagesix.com)

Whoops! I was afraid I broke the blog with my extreme Topshop zeal!

Anyway, I could give a crap about Grey's Anatomy -- I haven't seen an episode in my life, and I probably never will. But I will tell you that Katherine Heigl, shown here at yesterday's premiere of "27 Dresses," which featured 27 women in promotional gowns, is nothing short of totes gorge and glam.

Now, let's get one thing straight: the movie looks like a flaming pile of misery. But KH herself is amazing. I cannot, for the life of me, find out who designed her dress, but she is stunning. She's like Tippi Hedrin, Jayne Mansfield (minus the sluttiness and early death, hopefully!) and Angie Dickinson all rolled into one. And with Tara Reid rolling around looking like this, Amy Winehouse in schmatte after shmatte (by the way, Karl Lagerfeld's "very much" likes her hair), Britney's boobs and bum on perpetual parade, and Posh, who, unsurprisingly, made Mr. Blackwell's worst dressed list, wearing shit like this, Katherine is like a fresh spring crocus peeping up through Tinseltown's festering trash heap!

And dudes, she even looks presh when she's just out shopping for paint:

And finally, her husband is HAWT. She is a pretty pretty princess. The end.
