Tarina Tarantino Launches A Beauty Line With Sephora!

Tarina Tarantino
, one of my all-time favorite sparkly ladies (PLEASE know her jewelry -- it's loud, proud, sparkly, fluorescent, full of gems and sometimes feathers, and the most fun... not unlike myself, I do believe), just announced her exclusive makeup collabo with Sephora.

I got a chance to stop by Tarina Tarantino's Sephora beauty preview last night and walked into total flouro overdrive mode, with wet-look glosses, silky powders, shimmer dusters, a rainbow palate of 24 eyeshadows (including a golden shade) I'm jonesing for, and PACKAGING! Oh the packaging! Think 1980s Barbie meets Harajuku Lovers meets Rachel Perry meets Perfumeria Gal.

Check out a few Tarina x Sephora photos from Nylon Magazine and the Sephora blog, and stay tuned for Tarina Tarantino's Sephora line, available in February.

Me, geeking out when I met Tarina at the Richie Rich show last year...

PS: On the wedding tip, last night I caught up with Tarina, chatted about my upcoming wedding, and she was like you HAVE to get a videographer -- she just celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary and said it was amazing to look back on the video of her own wedding. Hm. I should add it to the list of shit to do...

Binge Lust: Tarina Tarantino Electric KoolAid Bib Necklace + Tarina Tarantino In-Store Event In NYC Saturday July 25

($740, Tarina Tarantino)
I fully endorse EVERY single piece of Tarina Tarantino's Electric Kool-Aid collection, but her bib necklace is the standout. This piece is like tasting every color of the rainbow -- like doing acid, minus the nasty flashblacks and 40-pound spiders crawling up your face! Win!

Oh yeah, and check out her subtle but stunning, wedding-worthy 1930s Art Deco Lucite drop earrings, which come in a handful of flavors. If they matched my wedding dress, I'd absolutely wear these day ofs.

($55, Tarina Tarantino)

ALSO, if you're in NYC, stop by the Soho store TOMORROW -- Saturday, July, 25 for Tarina's book signing!

FINALLY, THANK YOU, Sparkle Factory, for the FashionBinge shoutout! RAWX!

ADORBS ALERT: Tarina Tarantino Feather Drop Earri

($70, Tarina Tarantino, Karmaloop.com)
I'm ruving these Tarina Tarantino feather/ rhinestone drop earrings. Most of you (meeeee tooo included) immediately think of Disney when you think Tarina Tarantino, and while I love her signature Disney pieces too, I love these feathery earrings -- espesh the '70s-meets-nows juxtaposish between the old-school roach clip feathers and the mall punk colors. Can't handle bright pink and electric blue? Go more old-school roach clip:
($72, Tarina Tarantino, Karmaloop.com)
Also, two things: Karmaloop ALWAYS has promo codes. Try sn23820. AND, I met Tarina Tarantino! She ruuuuuuuules!

Awesome Fashion Week Spotting: Tarina Tarantino At Richie Rich!

I went to the Richie Rich show tonight -- beyond fun, duh -- and among the celebs and drag kings (Murray Hill!) and queens (Lady Bunny! Amanda Lepore! Pam Anderson!) there, I spotted Tarina Tarantino -- the bright-pink hair tipped me off.

Because starfucking is really sorta unbecoming and offputting, I'm usually not the first person to run up to someone. But I do think it's important to support the people whose work you truly admire (especially when it's someone who's made a name for themselves but isn't on a Marc Jacobs/ mob scene level or something), and I sorta suspected she'd be cool... and... SHE TOTALLY was. (Always a relief when that happens, and as a result, I'm smiling like a fangirl in the pic! Oh well.) I told her about FashionBinge and how I was a huge fan of her jewelry, and she told me how much she loves bloggers and all of their support, and -- then I nearly crapped -- she complimented me on my outfit and jewelry and was like "I love everything you have going on here" but in SUCH not a B.S.y sceney "HollywoodLABLAHBLAHFashionWeekloveyoumeanitnotreally" way. Tarina -- thanks for being you (read: awes!) and for making adorbsly fun jewelry that I always want all of.

(Case you were wondering -- I was wearing my Tuleste Market necklace, a black plastic heart strand necklace that I got at H&M a billion years ago, and a very '80s diamond-shaped mirrored purple gem brooch that I made -- it COMPLETELY looks like Marc By Marc Jacobs, except it cost me like 14 cents. Hee!)

Jewelry I Love and Want Right Now

I could devote an entire blog solely to my love of Alexis Bittar. Just a few more pieces I love, all from his Lucite line ...

($150, Alexis Bittar)
My Kryptonite. Gah! Shit's bringing me down! I'm powerless in its presence!

($150, Alexis Bittar)
I mean SERIOUSLY.

($85, Alexis Bittar)
I'm not a huge fan of red, but these are so slim and smooth, that I'd so do it. (I WOULD!)

($110, Tarina Tarantino, Shoplastyle.com)
I'm not so much a fan of Tarina Tarantino anymore, but I'll make an exception for these. Very elegant, yet not too stuffy. By the way, here's a 20% off coupon for ShopLAStyle: cookie29891. (Looks like a one-time use thing, so someone hurry up and use it!)

($32, Llyon LA, Blondette.com)
While I'm not into crosses, these are cute. And cheap!

(Apprx $1,199, Lulu Frost, Kabiri.co.uk)
Would this be more than my apartment's monthly rent? Yes. Would this be the most beautiful thing in my apartment? Indeed.

The Biggest Jewelry Post In The Whole Universe

Okay. You truly have no idea how long I've been hording jewelry links. My drafts folder has become the virtual version of a jewelry box whose contents are confused, tangled yet deeply beloved.

Here goes.

For a while now, Disney (yes, THAT Disney) has been making some extremely cute jewelry as part of their "Couture" line. Usually Disney makes me absolutely cringe, what with their oversized Pooh shirts just waiting to be worn to amusement parks and stained with Hi-C, but their jewelry line, almost all of which resembles Tarina Tarantino and consists of Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan and Bambi pieces, is so cute that I can find it in my blackened heart to break my snobby stance against anything pertaining to Orlando for this unusual Disney deviation.

My obsession began when I noted this on a friend's hand:
($50, Disney Couture, ETOnline.Seenon.com)
I totally flipped for its insane adorableness. (Those wee teeth! Such attention to detail with the teeth!) She'd gotten it at Lost Shoe on Ludlow. And thus began my complete obsession with almost all of the Disney Couture jewelry line.

($50, Disney Couture, TreasureKingdom.com)
Available in blue too, though it's on back order. And Karmaloop.com has the necklace version for $40.

($35, Disney Couture, Fred Flare)
This is my second fave piece. It's also available here for $29.

($40, Disney Couture, Electricladyland.com)
Also adorbs.

($12.95, Disney Couture, Treasurekingdom.com)
Cute n' cheap!

($65, Disney Couture, Regencies.com)
Ridiculously cute. Not as cute as this vintage piece...

(Poshgirlvintage.com)
... But it's sold out, so, call the Waambulance.

($23, Little Ghost Designs, Day-lab.com)
Not Disney, but very cute. I heart Lucite ($38, Disney Couture, Shopestella.com)

($75, Disney Couture, Regencies.com)
Fun too.

($13.50, Bambi Couture, Shopplasticland.com)
Fun.

($50, Disney Couture, Regencies.com)
Cute, but your $50 is much better spent on the skull ring. Plus, you could just get this...

($6, Zad, Lulusfashionlounge.com)
You know... for just $6. As I did.

Okay, now onto the non-Disney yet still kitschy stuff:
($25.50, Rebecca Berry, Shopplasticland.com)
Also cute.

($23.50, GaudyGoodies.etsy.com)
Almost everything that Netherlands-based designer Ilona makes are overflowing with cuteness!

($26, Gaudygoods.etsy.com)
See????

($170, Tarina Tarantino Alice In Wonderland Collection, JestJewels.com)
I love its freaked-out little face.

($85, Betsey Johnson, Jestjewels.com)
Loves, but I could totes make this, so really, I just wish I had the charms to make my own stuff.

($34, Tokidoki, eBay)
OMG. A little pink latte guy! With legs and horns!

($11.95, Paul Frank, Karmaloop.com)
Its name is Shaquana. Tee!

($45, Kenneth Jay Lane, Electricladyland.com)
I've been wanting this for months. Hmm. Might have to get my Paypal finger ready... Now for more food-related pieces:

($17, NOT Dior, Jewelglow.com)
They're so fake it's amazing.

($10.75, eBay)
Vintage eggplants!!! They're clip-on, but who cares when they're this rad? Speaking of vintage and rad...

($135, Rubylane.com)
Mmmm. Bakelite.

($58, LFStores.com)
Not sure if they're vintage but they look like it. Also, sucks for you if you're not a Virgo, Sag, Taurus or Aquarius.

($274, Sabrian Dehoff, Creaturesofcomfort.com)
Again, I HART Lucite!

($26, NaughtySecretaryClub.com)
Now, I personally do not need an Abe Lincoln bracelet, but I'm glad it exists for those out there who do.

Okee. There's more stuff coming, but I must get outside while there are still hours of sunlight out and celebrate the French Revolution. Viva la kitsch!
