Reason To Start Buying Scratch-Off Tickets: This Alica + Olivia Tan Leather Tulip Skirt

($495, Alice + Olivia, Bloomingdales.com)
Is it sad that I don't think it's sad to consider selling one's own plasma for this Alice + Olivia tan leather tulip skirt? Should I not have admitted to that thought?

You're REALLY Gonna Need This Nautical Striped Blazer From LOFT

UPDATE: Check out LOFT's nautical striped blazer in all of its glory!

($98, Loft)

Last night I went to the LOFT Holiday 2010 presentation, and while I liked what they were doing with subtle updates to winter classics -- the preppy tweed skirt below with a black silk overlay -- I left with one piece on my YES PLEASE list. The nautical striped wool blazer above. Is it a Givenchy's Springl 2010 blue and white striped blazer? Who can say? But I love the idea of warm wool jacket in a theme usually associated with warmer months. (More cool Breton striped tops here at Dreamhaute.)

And check out that Karen Walker/ Coco Chanel-inspired Breton striped top with a cute floral overlay. Cute on its own or layered under a blazer or safari jacket. I'm into it!

Oh, and speaking of safari jacket, I've been meaning to pick up Loft's safari jacket for forevs. Laziness alone has been a barrier to my owning that jacket:
($79.50, LOFT)
Seriously though, put aside your Mom-jeans conception of LOFT, because they're really stepping their game up (if you're not getting a J.Crew-y vibe already.) And they LOVE a sale. I got an amazing pair of black pegleg harem pants that look like Vanessa Bruno/ Phillip Lim for like $19. They practically paid me to buy them. Point is: LOFT = LOVE

This Is Really Happening Again: The Long Jersey Skirt

($138, Rachel Pally, Shopbop.com)
Really? This is really coming back? I mean, I like Rachel Pally, and also, there's nothing INHERENTLY wrong or bad about a long jersey skirt, except that it OFFENDS ALL OF MY SENSIBLE SENSES AND SENSIBILITIES! It's fine if you're Orthodox (I guess? Would Orthodox women wear this?), at the beach, or pregnant, but it's just such a meh look that takes me right back to the summer of 2003. I mean, I just cleaned out my closet and dropped some of these like a bad habit. Either wear shorts -- IF YOU MUST -- wear a CUTE SKIRT WITH SOME SEMBLANCE OF SHAPE, or suck it up and wear pants because you hate shorts like 98% of the rest of the female population. Long jersey skirts are like zzzzzz shapeless sacks and you should not be wearing one if you've graduated from college and/or are not on the beach and if you don't want people to think you're hiding other people under there. Also, do you really wanna look like a gypsy? No. That's all. Kbai

... Whereas This Parrot Skirt Is Awesome

TWO parrot posts in one DAY? Are parrots the new peacocks?

($84, Where Are You Now Josie, Asos.com)
This bright blue-and-bright-pink (one of my favorite color combos, btw) parrot skirt is the cutest thing I've seen all week, beside surprised kitty.

Oh, and speaking of skirts, I just bought the following foil leopard print skirt from Asos.com. I posted about it not long ago after finding it on Oli.co.uk -- and lamented that site's no-USA-shipping policy -- and a friendly FashionBinge reader alerted me to its availability on Asos.com. Each one teach one, i say!

Eureka! Le Perfect Animal Print Skirt!

(£38.00, Oli.co.uk)
Ugh. Damn you, Oli! WHY do you not ship to the US? HATERS! Normally I'm not in love with tulipy skirts as they can make the short look like certified l'il people. But I'd make an exception for this pink-and-gold leopard-print skirt. NEED.

MAJOR RAGER Savings at Urban Outfitters With This Promo Code, Y'awl

The other day, in an informative entry entitled Things I Want And Do Not Want Catherine -- or Ekatarina, as I like to refer to her, as though she were some wispy, sad, hollow-eyed Eastern European ice skater -- posted up this STAPLE of a skirt:

$58, Urban Outfitters
And I REALLY wanted it. And it was like 10 on Friday night, I was at work, and I was like, you know what, Tamron? You've been workin' your sweet little butt off. Time to cover that butt up in that skirt right there. Because you deserve it. So then what'd I do? Never one to settle for paying full retail, I found this little promo code: LUCKYBREAKS8, and, true to its namesake, it was indeed a lucky break, as it saved me effing 25%, knockin' that sucka MC down from $58 to $43.30. Serious as a heart attack! Saved my tired lil ass almost $15. Lucky doesn't have to know I haven't even picked up this month's issue. That'll just be our lil secret, 'kay?

WTF, FCUK?

WTF, French Connection? I love this "seasonal" skirt on the UK version of French Connection's site:

But this gold version ($148) is the only one available on the US version of French Connection online. WTF? I like the gold version, but I don't wanna dress like midcentury Christmas wrapping paper. Or Serge Gainsbourg's bathroom. . I want the silver one, damn it, and I want it in good old-fashioned, worthless U.S. CURRENCY! Dollahdollahbills, y'all!! French Connection, you guys are freaking LIARS! You're neither French nor "connected"... clearly. Bah humbug!

Things to Buy That Are Either Orange, Red, British, Bags and/or Cute

Hi y'all! Sorry for the brief hiatus, but I was in Burlington, Vermont. Fashionable? No. Snowy and sweet? Definitely. With great sandwiches everywhere we went.

Okay. Let's get RIGHT to it!

($253, Dutchy, CoutureCandy.com)
A gorgeous staple of a bag, but cost prohibitive por moi, I'm afraid.

(Apprx $70 USD, Accessorize.co.uk)
Simple. Suede... SOLD!

(Apprx $67 USD, Accessorize.co.uk)
This wouldn't usually be my thing, but I think it'd look smart with an all-black outfit and denim jacket, maybe. It looks like the sort of bag Banana would sell out in a minute despite a $268 over-price point.

($36, Oohboutique.com)
Cheap and chic, no? (Courtesy of Budget Diva.)

($45, Oohboutique.com)
How pretty pretty is this? Classy, no? Has anyone bought anything from this joint? This seems like it'd be nice, unless it looks like a sack of crap.

(Apprx $23 USD, DorothyPerkins.co.uk)
This is so presh, and wouldn't it look super-duper cuters with a 3/4-length solid trenchcoat for Spring! Sorta like either of these, no?

($44, BB Dakota, Lulusfashionlounge.com)

($49.99, Urbanoutfitters.com)
Please note: these two jackets count as "cute," since they're not British, orange, red or bags.

K. Back to bags...

($117, Paul's Boutique, Asos.com)
I really adore this peacock bag and some of the other Paul's Boutique bags that Asos is carrying. Including this one:

($128, Paul's Boutique, Asos.com)
Cute also. These remind me of Betsey Johnson bags.

(Apprx $11.50 USD, Fluff, Asos.com)
OMG. This widdle guy is SO cute! And look! He's crying! Maybe he wouldn't be if you bought him!

($104, Halsea, Shopatmilk.com)
Cute!

($39, no brand, eBay)
I bought this bag! While I LOVE orange, it's a bit more traffic cone orange than autumn-y orange, but it's super soft, and I've gotten lotsa compliments on it so far. Yay! Here's the seller from whom I bought it.

LAST BAG...

(Louis Vuitton, Crazy $)
Handbag.com has a gallery of the 40 MUST! HAVE! BAGS! for SPRING! A Louis Vuitton laundry bag is just wack. I don't care if it's made out of the softest leather five thousand thrown-away dollars can buy, or made from Jesus tears or what. It's lame. Abi of this blog has more on this totes (har) folly.

(Apprx $65 USD, Oasis-stores.com)
Very adorbs! Would look just SWEET as pie with some skinny black jeans (oh... who am I fooling... with leggings too!) and a fun yellow top, maybe? P.S: I LOVE that bold solids are in for Spring! YAY! Also... please note: these are British.

($311, Sretsis, Shopatmilk.com)
Very Heidi of the Mountains.

($15, Mrpickles.com)
I know I should totally be getting over cutesy tees, but this is extra true in my case, as this is my home state. Holla!

($74, Disney Couture, Shopatmilk.com)
As much as I LOATHE Disney, this is really cute... But... don't forget... I know a certain SOMEONE who also has lotsa rad jewelry for sale for MUCH less!... Let's take a quick sidetrip... shall we?

($32, Me!)

($18, Me!)

($24, Me Again!)

($40, Meee!)

Ok...

($41, Eveyln, Letrainbleu.com)
Scroll down for these... super cute!

And FINALLY...

($27, Vintage, Vforvintage.com)
Um, hi. Could this be the cutest thing ever? I think yes.

($17.54 Giannascloset.com)
I lied. The turtle skirt WASN'T the last item on this mammoth list. This skirt is. Because it's so NOT cute it's almost scary. Why would I add this? In case you needed a break from all that cuteness.

Toodles!
