Since it first appeared as the Le Mans Quattro Concept at the Frankfurt auto show way back in September 2003, the Audi R8 became an instant sensation. But seemingly before the car even turned a wheel the inevitable follow-up question was asked: when is the more-powerful variant coming? After all, Porsche is never content with just a base 911 and with comparisons aplenty between the Stuttgart legend and upstart rookie from Ingolstadt, it was obvious Audi would eventually up its R8 game.
Like the V-8-powered R8, the Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro will come with either a traditional six-speed manual or R tronic six-speed sequential manual. Regardless of gearbox choice, Audi says the V-10 propels the R8 5.2 from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds -- about a half-second drop from the 4.4 second 0-60 claim for the R8 4.2 and squarely in the supercar pantheon. Audi also claims the R8 5.2 achieves an average fuel economy of 17.2 mpg, an impressive figure for a 525 hp supercar.
The car's dimensions don't vary much from the V8 model — the V10 measures just 3 millimeters taller and 4mm longer. This car is wider than the V8 by just over an inch, though, and this is because the wider side blades (i.e., air scoops) take in more air for cooling and, frankly, just add more badass-edness to the way the V10-powered R8 looks.
The Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro will make its world bow at next month's 2009 Detroit auto show and when the R8 5.2 is rolled out in Germany in the second quarter of 2009, it will come with a sticker price of 142,400 Euros, or $181,645 at current exchange rates. Though there is no official word yet on the timing of a U.S. release, it's likely the R8 5.2 will come stateside sometime late next year with a hefty premium over the base R8, which presently lists for just under $116,000.

by Ed Hardy and Ferrari GTB Fiorano
The Christian Audigier style has grown so pervasive with the Ashton Kutcher set that it's long since leapt off of t-shirts and is attaching itself to automobile now.

Here is Audigier latest automotive design portfolio has emerged in the form of a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. Making Lapo Elkann's ride seem reserved by comparisson, this unique Ferrari is decked out in more tattoo art than a biker rally, and goes to show that if you have the money, Audigier will be glad to "improve" your car for you.

Green Evolution Car: Toyota Prius in Detroit Show
Another green evolution effort by automakers. TOYOTA launched its new Prius at the Detroit show, just as sale of the hybrid have been hit in the US in the face of falling petrol prices.
The new model will have to rekindle interest in Toyota's iconic hybrid, sales of which dropped by 48% in November 2008 compared to November '07. Lighter, more powerful and more economical than the current model, it also face competition from the cheaper Honda Insight.

This Prius's design is a sharper version of the current model, with a sleeker, more integrated look; it retains the high rear boot line for optimum airflow over the car. The new Prius has a drag coefficient of 0.25, making it one of only two cars (along with the new Mercedes E-Class) to manage such a low figure. It is slightly longer than the current car.

Underneath is an all-new platform that will be used by Lexus as the basis for its new HS250 hybrid. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine has grown in size to 1.8 litres, but Toyota claiming "significant reduction in weight".
The new Hybrid Synergy Drive system, Toyota's name for the electric motor setup, is smaller and lighter than in the current Prius, while the car incorporates aluminum and more high-tensile steel in its construction.
Inside, the car keeps the current Prius's layout, with the main instruments contained within a narrow, centrally mounted digital display. A button on the centre console, which is an Auris-style 'floating' unit allows the car to run on electric power only, allowing the driver to isolate the engine from the powertrain.
Head room is improved and the Prius gains boot space, thanks to the smaller battery pack, which is mounted under the boot floor.
When the car goes on sale in the UK this summer, expect prices to be similar to today's EURO17.777.

Mens Car Review: Porsche Boxster for 2009
Whether you like it or not, Porsche Boxster has been around for a dozen years, evolving slowly but steadily in the time-honored Porsche way.

Indeed, this popular mid-engine roadster--forever enshrined as "the car that saved Porsche"--has seen only one major update so far, during model-year ’05. That update was highlighted by more power, classier interior appointments, and cautiously revised styling.

Finally, Porsche has finalized with Boxster upgrade. Model year 2009 upgrades start where they do for any enthusiast machine: in the engine bay. The previous base Boxster's 2.7L flat-six has given way to a new 2.9L unit. Power rises from 245 to 255 hp; the Cayman's 2.9 is rated at 265 hp.

There's no displacement increase for the S versions; it remains 3.4L, but the powerplant is largely new and boasts direct fuel injection. It spools out 310 hp in the Boxster S and 320 in the Cayman S, increases of 15 and 25 hp respectively.
Anyway, the price is range from minimum of $52,000 for the base model and $61,000 for the S.

Man Car Review : Sports Activity Coupe by BMW
If driving an SUV has always seemed a little un-sporty, bulky and little un-cool for you, then you don't need to look further anymore now with BMW's Sports Activity Coupe
Well, this new segment of crossover vehicle created by BMW to describe the 2009 X6, which had made its official debut in Detroit. While it's not the best segment name you've ever heard, it still beats the ubiquitous “crossover.”

If you are familiar with BMW's X5, This Sports Activity Coupe is basically an extension of X5, but in a much sleeker package. BMW has clearly sacrificed some of the X5's utility (passenger room and cargo capacity) for the sake of styling, thanks to that sloping roofline.
According to industry news, The X6 will also be available in a hybrid model using the Two-Mode system it developed with GM, Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler, which give you more fuel efficient driving experience.
