Say goodbye to streaking colors as well as fading threads. A whole new long lasting dye by British scientists could possibly mean the end of rose-colored “whites” as well as other clothing disasters. The revolutionary technology bonds the dye in order to textile fibers-particularly synthetic ones-on a molecular level, which results in coloring which won’t go, leach, or perhaps fade. To build up their product, scientists at the University of Leeds spun off their own personal organization, DyeCat, that provides an eco friendlier substitute for traditional dyeing techniques by mitigating waste, pollution, and energy use.
In usual dyeing processes, that account for seventeen to twenty percent of global industrial water pollution, swathes of material are colored utilizing chemicals in water baths. Despite the fact that molecules of dye soak into the fibers and settle in between, they’re not completely attached, because of this the sunlight, laundering, temperature, as well as other environmental variables can easily dislodge them from the surface.
The technology pioneered by DyeCat, alternatively, doesn’t make use of water at all. It chemically bonds the dye to the filaments as they’re twisted and spun into fiber, permanently locking in the color so it never washes out. The color, in essence, becomes part of the material, and no dyes contaminate the water.

Eco Fashion: HUGO Fragrances Initiative
HUGO Fragrances is delighted to announce the launch of ‘One Fragrance, One Tree’, a new sustainability initiative inspired by the increasingly eco-conscious outlook of HUGO Fragrances consumers. For each special edition pack of HUGO Element and HUGO Man fragrance produced, one tree will be planted in the Amazon rain forest in Peru .
To help raise awareness of this cause in the UK , Hugo Fragrances has commissioned 5 artists to create their own eco-friendly interpretation of an urban jungle. Designs will be painted on 100% recyclable card in the form of large pop up trees. With creative support from the artists, people will be encouraged to make their own mark by painting blank trees that will be on display in 5 cities throughout the country.
The tour launched in London’s Covent Garden on Wednesday 17th March and travels to Bluewater in Kent (19th – 21st March); Bullring in Birmingham (26th – 28th March) Meadow Hall in Sheffield (2nd, 3rd and 5th April) and Centre MK in Milton Keynes (9th – 11th April) before returning back to Covent Garden on 15th April for a grand finale, where the pop up trees will turn the cobbled pavements of Covent Garden into an urban jungle for the day.

Green Evolution Car: Toyota Prius in Detroit Show
Another green evolution effort by automakers. TOYOTA launched its new Prius at the Detroit show, just as sale of the hybrid have been hit in the US in the face of falling petrol prices.
The new model will have to rekindle interest in Toyota's iconic hybrid, sales of which dropped by 48% in November 2008 compared to November '07. Lighter, more powerful and more economical than the current model, it also face competition from the cheaper Honda Insight.

This Prius's design is a sharper version of the current model, with a sleeker, more integrated look; it retains the high rear boot line for optimum airflow over the car. The new Prius has a drag coefficient of 0.25, making it one of only two cars (along with the new Mercedes E-Class) to manage such a low figure. It is slightly longer than the current car.

Underneath is an all-new platform that will be used by Lexus as the basis for its new HS250 hybrid. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine has grown in size to 1.8 litres, but Toyota claiming "significant reduction in weight".
The new Hybrid Synergy Drive system, Toyota's name for the electric motor setup, is smaller and lighter than in the current Prius, while the car incorporates aluminum and more high-tensile steel in its construction.
Inside, the car keeps the current Prius's layout, with the main instruments contained within a narrow, centrally mounted digital display. A button on the centre console, which is an Auris-style 'floating' unit allows the car to run on electric power only, allowing the driver to isolate the engine from the powertrain.
Head room is improved and the Prius gains boot space, thanks to the smaller battery pack, which is mounted under the boot floor.
When the car goes on sale in the UK this summer, expect prices to be similar to today's EURO17.777.

Man Fashion: Green Boots from Timberland
Wanna play a part in support green campaign? Now you will have wider choices. US shoe maker, Timberland is putting trashed tires back on the streets this year when it releases Timberland boots and shoes made with recycled tire rubber.

The material comes from Green Rubber, a Malaysian company that has developed a method for devulcanizing waste tires. Many rubber products like car tires, bumpers and shoe soles are made of vulcanized rubber, which is created by adding sulfur and heat to virgin rubber in order to make a tougher, more durable material.
The beauty part is when shoes made with Green Rubber wear out, the soles can be reused by the Green Rubber company and recycled again, and Timberland is working on a plan for how to take back and disassemble boots.
So get ready for yourself to support Timberland Green Initiative

Spring 2009 Men's Fashion: Gilded Age
Just because he's not wearing a suit doesn't mean he can't look good. Gilded Age makes high-quality, well-made and well-cut casual clothes that will have people taking him seriously, whether he's running errands or on Friday casual wear.

Find out more about Gilded Age's founder and creative director Stefan Miljanic new collection for Spring 2009 Men's Fashion. But what the designer did with this backstory was ultimately less interesting than what he did with the raw materials of his own trade. Focus on eco-conscious, he produces its clothing, from using organic denim with plant and vegetable dyes in its jeans to using recycled looms to weave its sweaters.

For instance, for instance. A hunting jacket in indigo chambray had been washed to bring out imperfections that added appealing texture. T-shirts were organically dyed in Japan, the intensity of the orange shade achieved by 12 days weathering on a rooftop, the indigo dipped 11 times to get its color right. The result will retail for $280.

Man Fashion: Eco-Friendly Shoes

Nike Grind is a recycling program, in which Nike collects worn out athletic shoes of any brand, and recycles them into reusable material. The shoe laces and sock liners are made from eco friendly materials. To make the mission perfect in all the ways, the shoe will also be packed in a cardboard shoe packing box which will be made only out of recycled materials. This shoe is believed to have met with the desired design standards of Nike. Promotion of this shoe was done by evergreen basket ball star Steve Nash. He first wore this shoe during a basketball game on the Valentines Day. Nash is himself known to be an eco-friendly person and thus was a right choice to promote a Vegan product. This shoe made from 100 percent trash is priced around $100 USD. It is claimed by Nike to exhibit a good on court presentation as performance footwear.

Man Fashion: 5 Buy Calls for 2008 Men's Fashion
I am sure some might wondering, what should the trend in 2008 after my earlier post on 7 Men Fashion to avoid in 2008? There are many saying that 70's fashion is coming back, punk fashion should be in high popularity. Well, in my opinion, some of the fashion trends in 2007 might spill over to this year. Here are some of the fashion that will still in high demand.
Tags: Man Fashion, 2008 Men Fashion, Levi's Jean, eco-friendly jeans, Patek Philippe, Patek Philippe Calatrava, Sweater Vest, Timberland Boots, David Beckham, Apple iPhone
- Jeans - In particular eco-friendly jeans. Since Levi's launched their the Levi's(R) 506 Standard Fit Jean for guys and the Levi's(R) 570 Straight Fit Jean for girls in end 2006, this type of eco-trend jeans will continue to dominant the jean's world in 2008.
- Watch - The classic trend is back, a classic round wristwatch, with hobnail bezel, Roman numerals, and a beautiful porcelain white dial. Patek Philippe Calatrava, a classic of the less-is-more genre, demonstrates, taste is one thing you can't measure with a ruler.
- Sweater Vest - Call it the revenge of the nerds, but the latest release of GAP V-neck sweaters is making your traditional sweater vest in your closet look a little outdated.
- Boots - Rocking this ensemble from head to toe, as David Beckham did on a recent Arena magazine cover—may not be for everyone, but chances are there's a pair of bovver boots or suspenders in your future.
- iPhone - Don't require further elaboration. Find out the nearest Apple store near you today.

Man Fashion: Eco-Fashion Trend
I am not a fan of leather products, I don't fancy about all the leather products like bags, wallets, etc. But there are many designers who insist on exploiting animals in the name of fashion. Looking at the latest fashion magazines, there are beautiful models clad in clothes made out of fur, leather, and suede. All the latest must have accessories are all made of animal materials. It seems that these items have somehow become a status symbol that screams high fashion.
Now, for those who are as much fashion conscientious as well as earth friendly, eco-friendly fashion is hitting the runways. Forget those past images of burlap sacks, hemp necklaces, and Birkenstocks, the new eco-fashion is rich with style and chic designs—all with the greatest amount of care and respect for our environment. So green is not just a color in fashion anymore - it's a conservationist's way of life.
Fashion weeks in both London and New York have promoted some of the hottest styles to date, all designed with eco-friendly fashion in mind.
For the first time in fashion history, designers Emily Santamore and Melissa Sack, founders of Moral Fervor, have created a clothing line with eco-fashion mindset that entirely uses Ingeo fabrics. Synthetic and sustainable, Ingeo fabric is made from fermented corn. Having a concern for both the environment and humanity, Moral Fervor donates a portion of its profits to a program, called Nutripia, which feeds women and children in Rwanda. (Too bad, men wear is not available yet)
Using organic cotton and hemp that’s harvested and manufactured without the use of pesticides or sweatshop labor, Pigeon Passenger has designed one of the most adaptable eco-fashion dresses of the season. Called the Nora Wrap Dress, it is both reversible and versatile. Custom-made for a Friday at the office, playful enough for a Sunday brunch, and sexy enough for a night out, the Nora Wrap Dress is the perfect eco-design for earth-friendly women on the go.
Ecoganik, a fashion design company that uses only certified organic and eco-friendly fabrics, has a steadfast mission to promote the use of eco-fashion such as pesticide-free and low-impact dye
fiber. And while their concern for the planet is foremost, they do not give up anything on style. With a fresh, casual-chic line, Ecoganik is not only environmentally conscientious, it’s in vogue. But too bad, so far they only focus on women wear.
Bono, with Ali Hewson, launched an earth-friendly collection under the company EDUN—nude spelled backwards—in 2005. One highlight of EDUN, whose mission is to use trade rather than aid to fight poverty and create maintainable communities throughout Africa and other developing countries, is a fig leaf charm. The charm, a silver-colored fig leaf that hangs by a thin, black rope, represents a return to nature and signifies copiousness.
Trendy, relaxed, and eco-friendly that’s Del Forte Denim jeans. These sexy jeans are made from 100 percent organic cotton and are sure to be the perfect fit for fashion savvy, environmentally friendly. Even big brand like Levi's, has launched their eco-friendly Levi's jeans too.
Sara Cross’ cruelnotcruel collection emphasizes the use of organic fabrics, while keeping classic
style at the forefront. Cross, who is concerned with both the earth and labor, makes it a point to hire a group of indigenous Aymara women for all of her Alpaca wool designs. The Aymara women, who live in Bolivia, have a healthy work environment and fair compensation.
In today’s fashion world, “going green” does not mean giving up style. Environmentally-concerned designers have successfully combined style with eco-friendly fashion. With a flair for fashion, these designers have used their creativity to offer trend setters stylish earth-friendly attire.
So play your part today by start buying eco-fashion clothes.
