Randy Quaid vs. Brokeback Mountain
Randy Quaid says he has reached an agreement with the producers of Brokeback Mountain, and has dropped his $10 million lawsuit against them. The actor claims the producers agreed to pay him a bonus after he filed the lawsuit claiming he was underpaid for his work in the Oscar-winning film. However, a rep for the producers from Focus Films says no settlement has been reached, while Quaid claims the arrangement was unofficial and that the bonus is to be split among cast members. "The circumstances of him dropping the suit are as mysterious as the circumstances under which he filed his claim. Focus Features never negotiated, offered or agreed to any settlement agreement with Mr. Quaid or his attorneys, but we're happy to put this behind us, and do wish Mr. Quaid the best," said the Focus Features rep.
