Sales Sales Sales!

A few NYC sample sales, but a few onliners too!

1.) Nordstrom is holding her annual Anniversary Sale Beauty Exclusive with over 100 beauty brands participating. The sale lasts July 18th through August 3rd, but you can preorder -- check out all of the available items here. Items ship July 18. My faves? MAC's Colour Form sets in bold primary colors:

($49.50, MAC, Nordstrom)

2.) eLuxury.com is also holding an anniversary sale -- take 15% off all sale items between June 25th through June 27th. What would I buy? Since you asked...

($239, 3.1 Phillip Lim, eLuxury.com)

($625, 3.1 Phillip Lim, eLuxury.com)

($475, 3.1 Phillip Lim, eLuxury.com)

3.) Piperlime is having a "tag sale," if you will, with savings of up to 40% off their summer styles. A few choice picks -- some of them aren't on sale, so, sorry for lying!
(Was $79, now $54, Nine West, Piperlime)
So gorgeous and fun, and they look really sturdy and not painful either!

(Was $132, now $89, Vince Camuto, Piperlime)
Subtle bondage vibe over here.

($450, Bettye Muller, Piperlime)
These are actually from Piperlime's Fall preview. Normally I hate Mary Janes, but I'm all over these like Amy Winehouse on her first cigarette out of the hospital.

($335, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Piperlime)
I'm inexplicably drawn to the contrast of blue patent leather and burgundy suede. It's about as much patriotism as I can handle.

530 7th Ave #1009

Spring Fling: Dress Obsessed

Soooooo many cute spring dresses, so little money. But for those of you who still have yet to receive your Bush bucks, check out these fun frocks you REALLY won't want to get ketchup on this Memorial Day:

($196, Oasis, Asos)
So fun, so flattering, so many footwear options.

($518, Zimmermann, Shopbop)
I blogged about Zimmermann's fantastic bathing suits last month, and it turns out their apparel rules too. Love the grommets on the bust, and the fun '60s print keeps the whole thing from looking ho-ish.

($395, Julie Haus, Activeendeavors.com)
This I wouldn't personally wear, but I know it'd be cute on many of you. I like the fun Neapolitan colors.

($495, Sass & Bide, Net-a-porter)
Refined Neapolitan modness.

($198, Yumi Kim, WinkNYC)
A perfect cute, non-hippie sundress.

($204, Jenny Han, Shopintuition)
Designer Jenny Han created this piece, which has some sweet cutesy French maid action you don't usually associate with spring, but why not? Plus, 20% of the proceeds go to the Young Survival Coalition, a nonprofit network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to helping young women diagnosed with breast cancer. (Jenny Han's own VP of Sales was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 30 -- eek -- so go get yourself checked!) It's available at Intuition in July.

($154, Rhys Dwfen, ActiveEndeavors)
Irresistible and elegant.

($1495, Lela Rose, Bergdorf Goodman)
This has a very Hepburn-esque sweetness. Not so sweet? The price. Boo.

($414, Crispin and Basilio, ActiveEndeavors)
Another pretty persimmon, but way cheaper and far sexier.

($99, Karta, Shopintuition)
Speaking of Intuition, I'm pretty sure this would be gorge against darker skin or freckly complexions.

($350, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Net-a-porter)
... And I'm pretty sure this would be cute on me.

($384, Anna Sui, Net-a-porter)
Sweet '70s-ness.

($518, Thread Social, Shopbop)
Not immediately spring-y, but its short silkyness = nice and light.

($94, Grey Ant, RevolveClothing.com)
You can still look hot while drinking ghetto beer-lemonade punch at a sticky rooftop party. (Ahhh memories!)

Phillip Lim Lust

Four pieces that I'm currently lusting after, by 3.1 Phillip Lim.

(Apprx $857 USD, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Matchesfashion.com)
I'm usually not into Asian-inspired silk styles or prints, but for some reason I really love this.

($310, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Barneys Co-op)
I've seen this in person, and it is the softest, most delicate, most femmey, tissue-thin wonderful little slip of a thing. And it is GORGEOUS. However, since it's fairly short, it is made for a woman whose breasts stopped growing at age 11.

($315, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Neiman Marcus)
Love this. Very Carnaby Street. And at an amazing price to boot! w00t!

($695, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Net-a-porter.com)
I would kill for this dress. Only someone who really deserved it though, of course.

Glad for Plaid!

Note I did NOT say MAD! Eventhough it's hotter than two bullfrogs here, I've been all about the most-unsummery plaid for some reason. Mucha what I've been admiring is dresses, several of which are by Marc Jacobs. So, I've been reduced to fantasy shopping, but if I were actual shopping, here's what I'd get:

($198, Marc By Marc Jacobs, Shopbop)
Lovely and colorful, but...

($24, Forever 21)
Also lovely and colorful cute and nearly $200 less!

($290, Tibi, ActiveEndeavors.com)
Adorable...

($22.80, Forever 21)
Even more affordable!

($129, Nine West, Nordstrom)
Soooo purdy!

($89, Liz Claiborne, Amazon)
Also fairly cute.

($485, 3.1 Philip Lim, Net-a-Porter.com)
Not as "dowdy-looking" in the other photos.

($24.80, Forever 21)
Substantial savings, y'awl!

($189, Marc By Marc Jacobs, Neiman Marcus)
Sorry, no viable alternative, but the price is amazing.

($48, Body Glove, Zappos.com)
Yes, I actually AM suggesting you buy something by Body Glove.

($64, E.C. Star, Pinupgirlclothing.com)
Scary-looking lady, but the top is fun.

($26.99, Paul Frank, Fredflare.com)
Very presh... for people who can wear short shorts.

($34.50, Delias.com)
Satisfyingly cute but not cloying.

($25, Stephana Designs, Stephanadesigns.etsy.com)
Handmade funs!

($196, Tory Burch, ActiveEndeavors.com)
Now, it's clearly not plaid, but I want to point out that I did purchase a very similar top from f21...

($15.80, Forever 21)
Yo la tengo in red and black. Very cute, comfy and wear-to-work-able.

($220, Volcom, Karmaloop.com)
Super cool, but much moreso for dudes.

($122, Hickey Freeman)
Also cool for hims.

N'sure how much it is, but it's super cute, and it's from World Market.

($25, Paul Frank, Karmaloop.com)
K, it's not plaid, but it sorta feels like it could be related to plaid, doesn't it?

($30, Forever 21)
Again, not plaid but it IS patterned. I threw this in because I was totally surprised to see something so elegante at f21. If I woulda said this was by Cynthia Steffe, you could even believed me! Case in point:
... But... lyin's for suckahs.

($174, Vena Cava, LeTrainbleu.com)

($104, Talla, Beklina.com)
I truly adore this amazing top.

Because I'm feeling charitable, check out this amazing clip of Clay Aiken's soul-crushing horbsness. Why the fuck is he waxing nostalgic about "kids today" like he's some 85-year-old dude who once played the Catskills? Anyway, if you wanna skip over that, head straight for 3:00, where he does his rendition of "Baby Got Back" followed by "Like A Virgin." Seriously. Someone get this kid a tutu.
